    Effortless Installation with BILT®
Drop-in sink installation instructions are available on the BILT® App. Download the BILT App and search “Sinkology” to find interactive instructions specifically for your product and installation type. It’s so simple, it feels like cheating!

    Getting Started

This procedure will assist you with installing the Sinkology Bath Drop-In Sink.

    • DIY
    • Drop-In
    • Not all drop-in bath sinks require mounting hardware

If your bath sink does not come with mounting brackets, Sinkology recommends securing your sink with 100% silicone and expandable foam.

    What You’ll Need

Carpenter Square, a Level, a Jigsaw fitted with a Carbide or Diamond Blade, a Power Drill, a 1 1/2″ (or larger) Hole Saw, a Tape Measure, a Rubber Mallet, Plumbers Putty, 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant, Expanding Foam, Painters Tape, a Water-Soluble Marker, a Carpenter Pencil, Craft Paper (larger than the Sink), a Utility Knife, Scissors, and Safety Glasses and Gloves.

Depending on your type of countertop, you may also need either a Pull-Saw, a Router with a 45-degree Bevel Bit, a Rotary Tool with a Grinding Bit, or an Oscillating Tool.

    Instructions

    1. Place the new Sink upside down onto the Paper, and trace the Sink’s outside edge.
    2. Remove the Sink and draw a second line one-half inch inside the first line.
    3. Cut out the center of the template along the second line. Note: Trim the template slowly, often checking that it matches the shape of the Sink. If you have trouble with the first template, do not hesitate to make another.
    4. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the plumbing.
    5. Remove any existing fixtures, and the countertop if necessary. Note: Painter’s Tape is required to prevent chipping on wood-based countertops and is optional on other materials. If you plan to use a wet saw to cut your countertop, you should omit the Tape and mark the countertop directly with a suitable Marker.
    6. Find and lightly mark the centerline of where your Sink will be installed. Note: The center will often be where the cabinet doors meet, but your cabinet may vary.
    7. Measure the width of the Sink side to side. On the countertop, measure and lightly mark exactly half that distance on both sides from the center.
    8. Using a Square and a Pencil, draw light lines through all three marks, perpendicular to the front of the countertop.
    9. Apply Painter’s Tape to the countertop just inside the outer lines.
    10. Measure the exact distance the rear of the Sink should sit from the back edge of the countertop, mark it on all three lines, and apply a line of Painter’s Tape to the countertop in front of the three marks.
    11. Measure the length of the Sink front to back. On the countertop, measure and mark that distance forward from the rear line.
    12. Apply Painter’s Tape to the countertop behind the line.
    13. Center and align your Template to the lines on the countertop.
    14. If any countertop shows below the edge of the template, apply additional Tape to the countertop to cover them, then recenter the Template.
    15. Trace the edge of the Template onto the countertop. Note: As you are cutting the countertop, remember to remove less material at first, then make adjustments to trim it to its finished shape. Ruining a countertop by cutting too far is impossible to fix and expensive to replace.
    16. Use a Hole Saw to cut a starting hole near the inside edge of the traced cut line.
    17. Cut the installation hole in the countertop along the traced cut line.
    18. Temporarily position the Sink to double-check that it fits properly. If necessary, make adjustments to the hole.
    19. Remove the Sink, then remove all Tape from the countertop.
    20. Apply 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant around the edge of the hole.
    21. Place the Sink in the hole.
    22. If there are any gaps around the rim, eliminate them by gently tapping the Sink with a Rubber Mallet.
    23. The Sink will need to be weighted down during the next step. You may use heavy items (so long as they do not damage the surface) or have someone hold it down for the duration.
    24. Secure and seal the Sink to the countertop using Polyurethane Expanding Foam in the gap between the edge of the hole and the Sink. After it dries, remove the weight and any Foam that might block the faucet installation holes.
    25. Create a smooth seal around the Sink’s upper rim using 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant. Note: Allow the Sealant time to cure properly before using the Sink.
    26. Install the faucet.
    27. Reconnect the plumbing, turn on the water supply, check for leaks, and repair if needed.

Congratulations, this completes the installation of the Sinkology Drop-In Sink.
