Happy 2019! The Christmas season has just come to an end. With all of the hustle and bustle that goes along with the November and December months, it’s nice to have time to rest and think about the new year and what lies ahead. But don’t get too comfortable, it’s time to gear up for yet another holiday.

Valentine’s Day is upon us and whether you decorate for this particular holiday or not, it can be quite fun to host a Valentine’s Day meal for the people you love. Perhaps you want to plan a special dinner for you and your special someone or maybe you want to have a Valentine’s Day lunch with your children or close friends. There’s no need to spend a lot of money on a tablescape. I’m here to bring you a few easy “Do It Yourself” projects that you can do to make your Valentine’s table pop.

Copper Heart Confetti

Don’t underestimate these beauties. DIY copper heart confetti can make all the difference when putting together a Valentines’s Day table. Instead of buying bright red or pink confetti, which is the standard colors most stores carry, you can make your own. You’ll need a piece of copper paper (or whatever color or design you choose) and a heart stamp cutout. I found both of these inexpensive items at a local craft store. The piece of paper had a perfect shine on it that made it look almost like a piece of copper sheet metal. The first and only step is move around the paper and stamp away.

Copper Heart Napkin Ring Holders

Cute, small, and each one unique, we are making copper heart napkin ring holders. There are just a few supplies needed for this project: metal cutter, needle nose pliers, thick copper wire, and thin copper wire. Please use caution when using metal cutters!

The first step is to take the thick wire, mold it in to a heart, and twist it at the bottom. No need to try to make it look perfect, just do your best.

Next, take the thin wire and make a backing, leaving a gap for the napkin to slip through. This will allow you to see the entire heart. The last step is to cut the remaining extra copper wire. Put the napkin through the ring and you’re done!

Time To Set The Table

Now that the projects are done, it’s time to set the table. Of course I didn’t go for a traditional Valentine’s Day tablescape. I am not a big fan of red so I will only use colors I love. I started with white dishes, a burlap table runner, and faux garland. Also, part of the table setting is the beautiful solid copper mugs from Sinkology and my Ironstone pitcher. Top it all off with copper heart confetti and copper napkin ring holders and you’re Valentine’s Day table is set!

Whether you are having a romantic dinner with your spouse, your special someone, or a fun loving lunch with your kids, this Valentine’s Day table is perfect for entertaining.
